Oligonucleotide Drugs
<
>
Oligonucleotide drugs (OND)are a general term for a class of short-chain nucleotide compounds consisting of bases that are recognised and bound to the target nucleotide sequence through the Watson-Crick base-pairing principle, interfering with the transcription and translation of disease-causing genes, thereby correcting the expression of disease-causing proteins and ultimately achieving the effect of treating disease.
According to the differences in drug structure and mechanism of action, OND can be classified:
Antisense oligonucleotide (ASO).
Small interfering RNA (siRNA).
micro-RNA (miRNA).
Aptamer, etc.
